Significance of the initial R wave in lead aVR of the electrocardiogram in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction.

چکیده
no significant effect of age, sex, or race on the mean initial R-wave amplitude in lead aVR or its distribution, or on the upper 98% normal limit of the initial R wave, a decrease of the mean R amplitude in aVR with clockwise rotation of the transitional zone, and a highly significant correlation of R amplitude in aVR to that of R in V1, Q3, and Q in aVF, but too low for reliable prediction. Right ventricular hypertrophy, anterior wall myocardial infarction, and hypertensive heart disease have no effect on the amplitude or prevalence of the initial R in aVE. Posterior and anterior plus posterior wall infarction significantly increased amplitude and incidence of the initial R in aVR.

Using risk factors to help in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction in patients with non-diagnostic electrocardiogram changes in emergency department
Objective: This study aimed to determine the association of cardiac risk factors and the risk of Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) in Emergency Department (ED) patients with non-diagnostic ECG changes. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the ED of Imam Hossein Hospital during a period of one year. In this study, patients with symptoms s...
متن کاملClinical Significance of P Wave Dispersion in Prediction of Atrial Fibrillation in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction
Background: P wave dispersion (PWD) is defined as the difference between the maximum P wave duration (Pmax) and the minimum P wave duration (Pmin) in 12-leads of the surface electrocardiography. The aim of this study was to evaluate the values of PWD during atrial fibrillation (AF) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods: We prospectively evaluated atrial rhythms of 350 patients (251 m...

Background and Aim: Presence of ischemic changes on the anterior surface of heart and AV block worsen the prognosis of acute Inferior Mycocardial Infarction (MI). The rate of mortality increases with the occurrence of AV block in inferior MI.The aim of this study was to predict and diagnose acute Inferior MI in patients with AV block based on ECG and clinical features.Patients and Methods: ...
متن کاملQT-Dispersion as a potential marker in prognosis of acute myocardial infarction
Introduction: QT dispersion in a 12 lead ECG represents the heterogeneity of ventricular repolarization. The prolongation of QT-interval dispersion increases the risk of coronary heart disease, ventricular arrhythmia, and sudden cardiac death in patients with myocardial infarction. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of QT-dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Meth...
متن کاملThe relation of ST segment deviations in 12-lead conventional Electrocardiogram, right and posterior leadswith the site of oc-clusion in acute inferior myocardial infarction
Background :In addition to diagnosing the acute myocardial infarction (MI), stratifying high-risk patients and proper treatment strategies are important issues in managing patients complaining of chest pain and suspecting MI. Many studies have been conducted to predict the occlusion site by interpreting the ST segment deviations in Electrocardiogram (ECG).Additional posterior and right precor...
